Must-Do Day Trips From Sydney

Sydney is the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Whether you're a frequent traveler to Sydney or visiting Sydney for the first time, there are destinations-day trip from Sydney to enrich your visit. Staying in a city apartment or hotel sign with one of the many bus tours or rent a car and design your own day trip. These are what I do day trips for your next visit to Sydney.

1. The Blue Mountains - Katoomba and Jenolan Caves

The Blue Mountains are just 50 km from Sydney, or around 90 minutes drive, and create a travel destination for a great day, even if you are staying in the central business district in an apartment or hotel. You can also reach the Blue Mountains by train directly from Sydney Airport. Located in a Heritage listed, this place offers great opportunities for hiking, restaurants, shopping malls, day spas, ever. Katoomba is the main city area and has spectacular mountain sites. Watch the famous rock formation known as the Three Sisters. Jenolan Caves, about 75 km from Katoomba, are some of the limestone caves of Australia's most famous.

2. Hunter Valley - the famous wine region

Hunter Valley, the river valley located 120 to 310 km from Sydney (approximately 2 hours drive) is the most famous wine region of New South Wales. The Hunter Valley is a popular destination for weddings, conferences, excursions and vacations. Make a cheese and wine tour and learn about grape growing and winemaking. The region is also a paradise for lovers of food - make sure you take the time to settle in for lunch at any of the restaurants and cafes, some of which are attached to wineries. Visit the gallery and admire the wonderful architecture of the region. There are also spas and retreats where you will receive a relaxing treatment.

3. Mudgee

Mudgee is a town west of the Blue Mountains, famous for its wineries and the rich history of gold rush, historic buildings and galleries. In June and September, wine festivals and food. Mudge is three and a half hours drive from Sydney or a short flight of 40 minutes.

4. Southern Highlands

You can reach the southern highlands after a short two and a half hours by train from Sydney or 90 minutes drive from Sydney. Located southwest of Sydney, this region is known for its green landscapes, quaint and charming villages, and relaxed lifestyle. Mittagong, Bowral, Picton, are just some of the places to put on your list.

5. South Coast

About two hours and half hour drive from Sydney, the south coast provides an excellent opportunity to connect to water and marine life. More than 30 national parks, marine parks and reserves in this region, with lots of coves and bays and opportunities to see dolphins and migrating whales.

Drive along the Sea Cliff Bridge, and the Grand Pacific Drive. Small populations of the coast with the opportunity to visit the famous markets and taste local cheeses. Both Jervis Bay and Batemans Bay have marine parks, while in the Royal National Park and the Wadbilliga National Park, visitors can experience the pristine forests and connect with wildlife.
